IASBO Distinguished Service Award
Emmert Dannenberg, ISDLAF+ statewide marketing director and broker with PMA, was recognized during the second general session of the IASB/IASA/IASBO Joint Annual Conference as this year's Ronald E. Everett Distinguished Service Award winner.
This award, presented by the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, "honors diligence, superior performance and service to the school business public." It was given to recognize the 24 years of service that Everett gave to Illinois ASBO as executive director.
"To be recognized by you peers is a tribute beyond description," Dannenberg said. "Anything I have achieved is because of combined efforts of so many others," he added. "I have received more than I can give back."
Dannenberg began his career in education as a teacher in the Sheridan Elementary district and received his master's degree from Northern Illinois University before serving as a district administrator in Serena, Illinois, and then as superintendent of Somonauk CUSD 432.
He has been active in Illinois ASBO for many years, including serving as president in 1998-99. During his presidency, the Association added exhibits to their annual conference and saw the completion of its building in DeKalb.
