Videos showcasing the Wheaton Warrenville South High School show choir, Bureau Valley High School and the Jacksonville High School Drum Line were chosen to open the three general sessions at the 2011 IASB/IASA/IASBO Joint Annual Conference.

The Classics from WWSHS were featured before Friday afternoon's general session, with Bureau Valley HS appearing on Saturday and the Jacksonville drum line on Sunday morning.

This was the third year that IASB has sponsored the competition, which was open to any Association member school district in Illinois. More than 98 percent of the districts in Illinois are members of IASB.

Criteria for selection was based on both performance and production quality of a submitted DVD. The selection criteria included accuracy of pitch, rhythm and clarity; balance of the ensemble; appearance and confidence; the appropriateness of the content for the audience; and the entertainment value of the presentation.

To facilitate entries in 2012, districts will be able to notify the Association of videos posted to YouTube. Additional information about 2012 entries will be released by mid-February.
